I. Job Description

The Team Leader – Air Freight Consolidation will play a pivotal role in establishing, managing, and growing the air freight consolidation division within our company. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in air freight logistics, sales, and business development to oversee the setup, operations, and expansion of the new business segment. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, experience in building teams, and a proven track record in sales and customer relationship management.

II. Role & Responsibility

– Business Setup and Strategy
+ Lead the setup of the air freight consolidation division, including developing processes, systems, and SOPs.

+ Work closely with senior management to define and implement business strategies and objectives.

+ Identify and establish relationships with key partners, including freight forwarders, airlines, airport terminals, and customs brokersStrategize ways of increasing profit margins, while keeping costs at a minimum

– Operations Management
+ Oversee the daily operations of the air freight consolidation team once established.

+Ensure efficient and compliant consolidation processes from the start.

+Maintain good business relations with Airlines & clients

– Team Leadership
+ Recruit, train, and manage a new team of air freight consolidation specialists.

+ Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, performance standards, and updates.

+ Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team members.

+ Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

– Sales and Business Development
+ Develop and execute a sales strategy to attract and secure new clients for the air freight consolidation services.

+ Identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and other sales techniques.

+ Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the benefits and value of our consolidation services.

+ Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.

+ Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.

– Customer Service
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with initial and prospective clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

+ Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.

+ Work with clients to understand their specific shipment needs and provide tailored solutions.

– Quality Control
+ Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consolidation processes.

+ Ensure all shipments are accurately documented and comply with international air freight regulations.

+ Monitor and evaluate the quality of consolidated shipments to minimize errors and damages.

– Cost Management
+ Identify opportunities to optimize consolidation processes and reduce costs from the outset.

+Analyze freight rates and negotiate with carriers to secure the best possible rates for consolidated shipments.

+ Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.

III. REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:
– Bachelor’s degree above
Major in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred. (Or an equivalent combination of work and education. / equivalent combination of work experience)
– English Advance Level, other language skill is a plus

EXPERIENCE:

– 20+ years’ experience in logistics

– Prefer work experience in global logistics company or Air freight market, Airlines

– Experience in setting up new business operations or divisions is highly desirable

– Must have experience in freight consolidation, international shipping, pricing and procurement

– Experience in negotiating and managing relationships with carriers and co-loaders

– Strong sales and business development experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

SKILLS:
– Understanding and analysis ability of Air Freight market

– In-depth knowledge of air freight regulations and compliance.

– Strong leadership and team management skills.

– Excellent communication and negotiation skills

– Excellent interpersonal and customer service mind

– Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment

– Sales-oriented mindset with excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

– Proficient in Microsoft applications

Certification:

Relevant certifications in logistics or air freight (e.g., IATA, FIATA) are a plus.

– Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8am ~ 5:48pm

– Salary: negotiable

– Bonus: 13th month bonus, MBO bonus available(estimates ~ 2 months)
